General Assembly at Polloc Free Port (NR 14-136)

General Assembly  at Polloc Free Port

Selected Regional Staff members of the Police Regional Office of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PRO ARMM) attended the General Assembly involving the representatives from Polloc FreePort Management and residents of Brgy. Polloc Parang Maguindanao in preparation for the full implementation of the 2014 Infrastructure Project of Polloc Freeport Administration on September 29, 2014  at 9:00 AM held at Barter Trade Building, Polloc Port, Parang, Maguindanao.

Atty. Mimbalawag T Mangutara Jr, Port Administrator discussed the overview of the  pipeline project and the proposed relocation site of the affected residents.

Meanwhile, Mr.Usman R. Ibay III, Municipal Administrator of the Office of the Mayor of Municipality of Parang explained how the project will be implemented and what benefit the people of Parang in particular and the Province of Maguindanao in general.  Accordingly, it will harness the potential of Polloc Port and will serve as a gateway of development for ARMM.

During the Open Forum, affected residents raised issues and concerns on the said project stating that they are not against development but what they only ask from the Government is to give them a relocation site with enough facilities and source of livelihood for them to survive. Residents vowed to discuss matters peacefully and will transfer to the relocation site once their claims are granted

As part of our effort to hold a peaceful dialogue with the affected residents, the PNP along with the AFP expressed commitment to peace and security by addressing everyone that the welfare of the people is the utmost priority and that  the rule of law must govern at all times.
