Policy on Rendering Hand Salute During the Singing of the Philippine National Anthem

"This pertains to the policy of the PNP wherein the PNP personnel wearing the prescribed PNP uniform shall stand at attention, with the right hand placed over the left breast while singing the Philippine National Anthem indoors.  However, in one of the occasions held in Malacanang Palace, the Chief, Philippine National Police had observed that members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines rendered the hand salute while singing the Philippine National Anthem indoors."

"Henceforth, for purposes of coherence and synchronism with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, all PNP uniformed personnel wearing the prescribed PNP uniform (to include PNP Athletic Uniform) shall stand at attention and render the hand salute while singing the Philippine National Anthem Indoors."

"Subsequent amendments to the existing PNP's Policy on Salute will follow."
